A hefty hog had to be rescued after falling into a cess pit.

The 300kg pig got stuck in the cess pit on January 30 and fire crews from Bedminster and Avonmouth had to come to his rescue.

The farmer and firefighters used shovels and rescue strops to extract the troubled pig.

Sharing this lovely photo on social media, the fire service had a pun-tastic time explaining the call-out.

🆘 Weighing in at 300kg, the hefty hog was totally stuck and in need of a helping hoof.

🛠️ Working alongside the pig’s owner, crews were able to rescue the pig.
