FARMERS in the south of England are being invited to an event later this month, focused on helping them reduce their carbon footprints. 

The event is aimed at helping farmers to secure premium supply contracts by drastically cutting carbon emissions, and is being hosted by agrifood business, Bartholomews. It will look at low-carbon cereals, and enable farmers to cultivate financially and environmentally sustainable crops. 

Run in collaboration with Marks & Spencer, BASF and Fertiberia, the event will be held at the New Place Hotel in Shirrell Heath, Wickham, Hampshire, on March 27. Registration begins at 9:15am, with presentations from 10am until 4pm. To register, click here. 

Marks & Spencer's agricultural manager, Vivienne Harris, will give insights into their net zero commitment and their initiative to create net zero cereal contracts. 

Richard Corden of BASF will discuss the latest advancements in precision agriculture and carbon management and Julio Bonet Gigante from Fertiberia will speak about green fertiliser which substantially reduces farm emissions while maintaining or enhancing crop yields.
